secondo altri, invece, la forma di Centuripe ricorda moltissimo una stella marina.

Translation

Italy is full of truly unique villages in the world, capable of attracting visitors from everywhere.

Many of these villages, however, are famous for their history, or perhaps for their culinary specialties, or for fine craftsmanship products.

Perhaps only one, instead, owes its fame to its… shape! We are talking about Centuripe, in Sicily.

Centuripe is a small Sicilian village with about 6000 inhabitants, in the province of Enna, and it is famous precisely for its incredible shape: when observed from above, it is impossible not to notice its resemblance to the figure of a person lying down, with wide arms and legs.

According to others, instead, the shape of Centuripe resembles a starfish very much.

But what is the reason for this characteristic that is more unique than rare? The reason is simple, and let’s say, geographical: the village was built this way to adapt to the morphology of the territory, rich in reliefs and hills due to its proximity to Mount Etna.
