A Milano nasce il “muro della gentilezza”

Milan, new "wall of kindness"

Grammar

CI + SI

“Ci si può trovare qualsiasi cosa”
(One can find anything there)

Let’s break down the pronoun combination “ci si”:

  1. “ci” is a pronoun that can have different meanings depending on context, but in this case, it is used as a locative pronoun meaning “there” or “in that place.”
  1. “si” is a pronoun that, when used with the third person singular form of the verb, creates an impersonal construction. This form is used to make general statements without referring to a specific subject, similar to the English passive voice or constructions with “one” or “you.”

Translation

Some time ago, in Milan, the first “wall of kindness” was born, a wall where you can hang clothes to donate to the poorest: coats, scarves, hats, sweaters, boots.

In short, you can find anything, both at night and during the day.

A beautiful initiative, and fortunately not unique.

Around the world, in fact, there are many similar walls, many “walls of kindness”.

The first was born in Iran in 2015, then in Pakistan, China, Sweden, and recently also in Italy, in Rome and Bologna.
