Pronome relativo CUI
Relative pronoun CUI

“…con cui si può entrare senza visto in 190 paesi”
(…with which one can enter 190 countries without a visa)

“Cui” is a relative pronoun in Italian that is used to introduce a subordinate clause and to refer to a noun or a pronoun that comes before it.
It is used instead of “che” (that, which) when following a preposition.

For example, in the sentence above, ”in cui” means “with which” in English. It introduces a relative clause and links it to the noun “passaporto” (passporto) that was previously mentioned.

Here are more examples:

  • “Nella città IN CUI abito ci sono molti cinema” (There are a lot of cinemas in the town IN WHICH I live)
  • “L’amico A CUI scrivo si chiama Luca” (The friend TO WHOM I’m writing is called Luca)
  • “La casa IN CUI abito è carina” (The house IN WHICH I live is cozy)
