No one likes the Gucci Christmas tree in Milan

Translation

One of the most beloved Christmas traditions for the people of Milan is the Christmas tree installed in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, next to the Duomo.

This year, the creation of the tree was curated by Gucci: titled The Gift of Love, this alternative tree cost over a million euros and is a kind of nine-meter-high pyramid made of gift boxes.

Despite the cost, the tree has not achieved the expected success and, in fact, is sparking irony and sarcasm from both passersby and on social media.

Tourists and residents describe it as “miserable” and “inappropriate,” and for some, it resembles the baggage storage area at Linate airport.

In summary, as one of the most shared tweets perfectly puts it: “perhaps for the first time, we have found a topic on which we all agree, even on social media: Gucci’s tree is disgusting!”
