Gucci lancia le sneakers virtuali a 12$

Gucci launches virtual sneaker for $12

uno dei primi a sperimentare è Gucci, che ha lanciato un nuovo paio di sneakers al prezzo bassissimo di 11,99 dollari.

Genio o pazzia? Chissà. Gucci è stata sempre molto attenta alle ultime tendenze della moda, e potrebbe avere ragione anche in questo caso.

Grammar

Pronome indiretto CI
Indirect object pronoun CI

“Solo il tempo ci dirà”
(Only time will tell us)

They replace indirect object nouns and answer the question “to whom?”, and are used when the verb requires the preposition “a”.
For the 1st person PLURAL we use the pronoun “CI”

A NOI → CI (= to us)

Normally comes before the verb:

– “CI piace la pizza”
(→ A NOI piace la pizza)
= We like pizza

BUT: if there are two verbs, or the verb is in the gerund, imperative or infinitive form, the pronoun follows the verb:

– “ScriviCI (= a noi)!”
= Write TO US!

Translation

Buying clothes online? That’s outdated. The new frontier of fashion is buying “virtual” clothes.

One of the first to experiment with this is Gucci, which has launched a new pair of sneakers at the incredibly low price of $11.99.

These shoes, designed by creative director Alessandro Michele, however, do not actually exist, they are only virtual: the first digital product of the Gucci brand.

In practice, the shoes are like a filter that customers can try on through their phone camera, and then use in photos shared on social media.

Genius or madness? Who knows. Gucci has always been very attentive to the latest fashion trends, and could be right in this case as well.

Only time will tell how the world of fashion will change in the coming years.
