Grammar

Aggettivi indefiniti: “qualsiasi”, “qualunque”
Indefinite adjective: “qualsiasi”, “qualunque”

“È possibile regalare qualsiasi vestito”
(It is possible to donate any clothing item)

The indefinite adjectives qualsiasi and qualunque have the same meaning and use. Therefore, they are essentially interchangeable.

  • Ti seguirei in qualsiasi/qualunque posto (I would follow you to any place)
  • Qualunque/Qualsiasi film mi va bene (Any movie is fine with me)

In front of the noun, qualsiasi and qualunque indicate a set in its entirety:

  • qualunque/qualsiasi uomo = any man, every man
  • qualunque/qualsiasi vestito = any dress, every dress

After the noun (which must be preceded by the indefinite article), they take on a vaguely derogatory meaning, indicating banality, mediocrity, or casualness:

  • un uomo qualunque/qualsiasi = an ordinary man
  • un vestito qualunque/qualsiasi = any random dress

Translation

In Milan, the first “muro della gentilezza” was born.

But what is a “wall of kindness”?

It is a wall where people can hang their clothes for the poor.

It is possible to donate any clothing item: coats, scarves, hats, sweaters, boots, shoes…

The wall is open every day, even at night, and people in need can take whatever they want.

In short, it is a beautiful initiative, and fortunately not unique.

Around the world, in fact, there are many similar walls, many “walls of kindness”.

The first one was born in Iran in 2015, then in Pakistan, China, Sweden, and recently also in Italy, in Rome and Bologna.
