Translation

Today, April 25th, Italy celebrates Liberation Day, which began on that day in 1945.

The Nazi and Fascist occupation of Italy did not end in just one day, but April 25th is considered a symbolic date.

That day marked the beginning of the retreat of the Germans and Fascists from Turin and Milan, thanks to the rebellion of the population and the partisans.

The war in Italy did not end on April 25th, 1945, but continued until the beginning of May.

Like Italy, other countries in Europe also commemorate the end of foreign occupation in World War II, but on different days: Denmark and the Netherlands on May 5th, Norway on May 8th, and Romania on August 23rd.

Even Ethiopia celebrates Liberation Day on May 5th to remember the end of Italian occupation in 1941.
