Rome - vending machine makes pizza in 3 minutes

Pronta in 3 minuti, 24 ore su 24, 7 giorni su 7.

(a city where the quintessential street food is “pizza al taglio”)

Relative pronouns substitute a noun and create a RELATION between two sentences.
The Italian relative pronouns “che”, “cui”, “il quale, la quale, i quali, le quali” correspond to the English ‘who’, ‘which’, ‘that’, ‘whom’, ‘whose’.

CHE is the most used relative pronoun, but it cannot be used after a preposition. In these cases, we use CUI instead of CHE.
The preposition goes IN FRONT of the relative pronoun:

= There are a lot of cinemas in the town IN WHICH I live

– “L’amico A CUI scrivo si chiama Luca”
= The friend TO WHOM I’m writing is called Luca

– “La casa IN CUI abito è carina”
= The house IN WHICH I live is cozy

Translation

Ready in 3 minutes, 24-7.

It’s the pizza from the very first vending machine in the capital, recently inaugurated in Via Catania 2, in the Piazza Bologna area.

Three machines capable of mixing, seasoning, and cooking a pizza in the blink of an eye, with a choice of four different flavors (margherita, spicy salami, bacon, and four cheeses) and prices ranging from 4.50 to 6 euros.

The idea is from the “Mr.Go” chain, and in the first few days it has attracted the attention of many passers-by curious about the novelty.

Between detractors and supporters of the idea, the former are certainly in the majority, and see the automatic pizza as an affront to tradition. The latter, on the other hand, emphasize the convenience of a service available at any time, in an area of the city frequented by many university students.

There are, however, daring ones who decide to give the express pizza a chance: “Mozzarella and tomato are great, for me it’s a full pass,” says one of the first customers. “The ingredients are not bad, but the problem is the cooking. Without leavening, the pizza comes out a bit dry,” adds another.

In short, only time will tell if “Mr.Go”‘s provocative idea will be a success or a failure.

Certainly, conquering the taste buds of Romans will not be an easy challenge, especially in a city where the quintessential street food is “pizza al taglio” (pizza by the slice).

And you, what do you think? Are you more attracted to “express” pizza or “pizza al taglio”?
