Top10 dei posti dove si mangia meglio al mondo

The Top10 best places in the world for food

Grammar

Inversione
Inverted sentence

“…a vincere è stata proprio l’Italia”
(…the winner was Italy)

This sentence uses a type of sentence structure called “inversione” or “inverted sentence,” where the verb comes before the subject. This is a common structure used to emphasize the action or verb in the sentence, rather than the subject.

For example:

  • Mangiare bene mi piace molto (I really like eating well)
  • Correre veloce mi fa sentire libero (Running fast makes me feel free)

However, this construction is typically used in more formal or literary contexts, and in everyday speech, the standard word order is usually preferred.

Translation

Tripadvisor, the website where reviews of restaurants, hotels, and other useful information for travelers are published, has drawn up the ranking of the 20 best food destinations in the world, based on the ratings of its users. And, perhaps not too surprisingly, Italy has won.

The Belpaese, in fact, has won three positions in the top 10. But not only that: according to most travelers, it is Rome that deserves the crown of the culinary capital of the world.

This is obviously due to the dishes of the Roman culinary tradition, such as succulent pasta alla carbonara and amatriciana. However, that’s not all: in fact, what impressed travelers the most was also the breathtaking beauty of the views of Rome where they consumed their meals.

The other two Italian cities are Florence, fourth, and Naples in eighth position. If you are curious to discover the other destinations for foodies, here is Tripadvisor’s top 10:
