Il possessivo SUO
Possessive SUO

“il suo colore è cambiato”
(his color changed)

In Italian, the possessive form for the 3rd person masculine singular is suo. It can be used as an adjective or pronoun:

– “È il suo libro” (It’s his book)
– “Questo libro è il suo?” (Is this book his?)

Possessives must agree in gender and number with the noun they refer to:
suo > masculine singular
sua > feminine singular
suoi > masculine plural
sue > feminine plural

Let’s see some example:

– Il suo libro (m.s.) è bello (His book is beautiful)
– La sua macchina (f.s.) è rossa (His car is red)
– I suoi genitori (m.p.) sono molti ospitali (His parents are very hospitable)
– Le sue amiche (f.p.) sono straniere (His friends are foreigners)
