Ordinal numbers in Italian are numbers that indicate the order of things in a series or sequence.
Starting from 11, they are formed by adding the suffix “-esimo” to the cardinal number (e.g. primo, secondo, terzo…).

Here are the ordinal numbers in Italian from 1 to 10:

• primo (1st)
• secondo (2nd)
• terzo (3rd)
• quarto (4th)
• quinto (5th)
• sesto (6th)
• settimo (7th)
• ottavo (8th)
• nono (9th)
• decimo (10th)

Starting from 11, you need to add the suffix “-esimo/a” to the corresponding cardinal numbers:

• undici > undicesimo/a (11th)
• dodici > dodicesimo/a (12th)
• venti > ventesimo/a (20th)
• cento > centesimo/a (100th)
• mille > millesimo/a (1000th)
