Musk vs Zuckerberg: the fight will take place in Italy

forse non è uno scherzo, ma è Tutto vero: ci sarà davvero l’incontro di MMA tra Elon Musk e Mark Zuckerberg. E sarà in Italia.

Elon Musk ha scritto su X (l’ex Twitter) la parola “Gladiator”. poi ha scritto che l’evento sarà in una “location epica”. Il Colosseo?

secondo Sangiuliano, per fare questo evento come nell’antica Roma, Musk e Zuckerberg daranno molti milioni di euro a due ospedali italiani per curare i bambini.

Futuro semplice
Simple future

“…l’evento sarà in una location epica”
(the event will take place in an epic location)

In Italian the future tense is used to talk about:

1. something that has YET TO HAPPEN, or will be true in the future (no matter close or far, speculative or definite):
– PARTIRÒ l’anno prossimo (I will leave next year)

2. to talk about SPECULATION:
– Dove SARÀ Luca? (Where Luca COULD BE?)
– Forse SARÀ a casa (Perhaps he IS home)

3. Sometimes, in ltalian as in English, the present tense is used to refer to the future:
– PARTO domani (I’M LEAVING  tomorrow)
– Il corso COMINCIA domani (The course STARTS tomorrow)

The future tense is generally formed by adding specific endings to the root of the verb.
The future endings of regular –ARE and –ERE verbs are:
-erò, -erai -erà, -eremo, -erete, -eranno

Example: parlare (to speak):
parlerò (I will speak)
parlerai (you will speak)
parlerà (he/she/it will speak)
parleremo (we will speak)
parlerete (you will speak)
parleranno (they will speak).

The future endings of regular –IRE verbs are:
-irò, -irai -irà, -iremo, -irete, -iranno

Example: partire (to leave):
partirò (I will leave)
partirai (you will leave)
partirà (he/she/it will leave)
partiremo (we will leave)
partirete (you will leave)
partiranno (they will leave)

Translation

Perhaps it’s not a joke, but it’s all true: there will really be an MMA match between Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. And it will be in Italy.

Elon Musk wrote on X (formerly Twitter) the word “Gladiator”. Then he wrote that the event will take place in an “epic location”. The Colosseum?

Perhaps not. The Italian Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, said that the event will indeed happen, but not at the Colosseum. Other possible locations are the Arena of Verona or Pompeii.

According to Sangiuliano, in order to hold this event reminiscent of ancient Rome, Musk and Zuckerberg will donate many millions of euros to two Italian hospitals to treat children.

Who do you think will win?
