“La vera inaugurazione si terrà il 29 settembre, quando ci si esibiranno gli U2”
(The actual inauguration, however, will take place on September 29th, when U2 will perform there)

The pronoun CI can be very tricky in Italian, having several different meanings and usages.
However, in this specific case it’s quite easy: in this context, “ci” functions as a locative pronoun, which means it indicates the location or place of an action.
It corresponds to “there” or “at” in English, indicating where the event (U2’s performance) will occur (in the Sphere arena).

Las Vegas is called “the city of lights,” and not by chance: a few days ago, a new futuristic construction has arrived.

It’s called Sphere, that is, “sphere,” and it’s a spherical-shaped theater where music and entertainment events take place. It can accommodate up to 17,600 spectators.

The incredible building is 110 meters tall and is completely covered with LED lights projecting images, both inside and outside.

Sphere costed 2.3 billion dollars. It was first lit up on July 4th, to celebrate Independence Day in the United States.

The actual inauguration, however, will take place on September 29th, when U2 will perform there.
