You can time travel through Google Earth

Translation

Google Earth, Google’s service for viewing satellite images of the Earth, now has a new feature: “Timelapse”, a function for observing changes on Earth over recent years, thanks to the comparison of many images from the past and present.

For example, it is possible to observe the changes in some big cities, such as Beijing, New York, and Osaka. Or observe the serious consequences of environmental exploitation in some areas of the planet, such as forests. But also, unfortunately, the reduction of the surface of glaciers, which are getting smaller and smaller.

To create Timelapse, Google has used about 24 million images. These images are mainly photos taken by American and European satellites from 1984 to 2020.
