South Korea has banned dog meat trade

The law was passed with 208 in favor and none against, and the prohibition will come into full effect in 2027.

In South Korea, the consumption of dog meat has been declining for years, especially among the younger population.

This decline is primarily attributed to the increasing popularity of dogs as pets, which has raised public awareness about the issue.
