The Super Blue Moon shone in the Italian skies on the last night of August: it was the largest and brightest full moon of 2023.

But what does Super Blue Moon mean? Let’s start with Blue Moon: This term doesn’t indicate the color of the moon, which is the same as usual; instead, it means that two full moons occur in the same month.

A Super Moon, on the other hand, is when our satellite is as close as possible to Earth. Therefore, it appears larger: the moon on August 31st was about 7% larger than usual.
